Some drugs are altered when it is taken with other drugs or food is called drug interaction.

Drug Interaction Checker are used to determine the interaction of some particular drugs. It can explain how the drug interact, the significance level of the interaction (major, moderate or minor), provide suitable course of action to overcome the interaction and most importantly what kind of drug or food it interact.

So, basically we just enter some particular drug name and it will appear all type of interaction. For example, we enter Prednisolone.

After we enter the drug's name, we can view all type of interaction appear and type of disease that interact with Prednisolone.

Therefore, may Drug Interaction Checker help us in our daily life.;)

PDTD (Potential Drug Target Database)

PDTD is a dual function database that associates an informatics database to a structural database of known and potential drug targets. PDTD is a comprehensive, web-accessible database of drug targets, and focuses on those drug targets with known 3D-structures.

In conclusion, PDTD serves as the cornerstone for TarFisDock to identify the potential binding targets in-silico.

This database allow user to search a lot of information. User just need to key in the subject in the blank space provided, and click 'search'.

Basically that will appear. So till then. Happy searching! ;))

Therapeutic Target Database :)

Hello Again Everybody??
Missing me?? Ahaha :) :)

My previous post was all about the pathway and that post was really-really sophisticated. So know, im going to share something less complicated and more easier to understand.

This post is regarding THERAPEUTIC TARGET DATABASE!!

HEHE. u guys can click the link above to understand it a little bit more detail.

So, therapeutic target database is a database created to find and gather information regarding the drugs that we want to know. They store a list of drugs based on the diseases and also their names. Below are few screenshots regarding this webpage (database) :

This are the first page of the database. This page required us to enter name of a disease or drugs before they can access the information and lead us to the information that we need.

This image contain an example of the disease that i use to get the information regarding the drugs related to parkinson disease.

Few image below will consists of :

- the list of the drugs related to parkinson
- example of antiparkinson's drug (CARBIDOPA)

*friends can click on the CARBIDOPA to learn more about the drugs

This is the image for the list of drugs for parkinson's disease

*p/s - the drug list should be longer but i try to save the space here. hehe :P

next is CARBIDOPA!!! haha.

Carbidopa is one of antiparkinson drugs. This can be easily known through this database. Im not going to explain much regarding this drugs as this post is meant for the TT Database. Next time, Im going to elaborate more on this drugs. #peacenowar

This two image above are the information that we can get regarding carbidopa. This database shows the other name that had been given to carbidopa besides learning about their true/valid chemical structure. ( p/s - haha. i dont think that the valid word is necessary. mehehe. :D )

So, i think that this database is really helpful in helping us, especially the phamacy students. Others (not necessarily pharmacy students okey!!) can also access into this database and learn ore about the drugs that they take whenever they not feeling good/unhealthy.

I think thats all from me for this time being. byebye. papoy!! see u again later guys. lovely kisses from me. hope all of u enjoy this post :)

ASSALAMUALAIKUM :D

DRUG BANK DATABASE

The DrugBank database is a unique bioinformatics and cheminformatics resource that combines detailed drug (i.e. chemical, pharmacological and pharmaceutical) data with comprehensive drug target (i.e. sequence, structure, and pathway) information.

People can accessed to a lot of information about the drugs specifically the Drug Bank ID, name, weight, structure, categories and therapeutics indications.

This database also provide the details information about the drugs. In example for the Aceprometazine, the information shown is like this :

HumanCyc: Encyclopedia of Human Genes and Metabolism

This is an encyclopedic reference on human metabolic pathways. It provides a zoomable human metabolic map diagram, and it has been used to generate a steady-state quantitative model of human metabolism.  If you wish to search for example, fat metabolism, just type in the above search box on your right side. Then this will appear.

Then it will narrowing your the scope of your search and will direct you to the right site. Below is an example of it.

For more information, just click on this http://humancyc.org/
Till then. Bye!

BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool)

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is part of the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM), a branch of the National Institutes of Health. The NCBI is located in Bethesda, Maryland and was founded in 1988 through legislation sponsored by Senator Claude Pepper.
The NCBI houses a series of databases relevant to biotechnology and biomedicine. Major databases include GenBank for DNA sequences and PubMed, a bibliographic database for the biomedical literature. Other databases include the NCBI Epigenomics database. All these databases are available online through the Entrez search engine.

One of the application including is Basic Local Alignment Search Tool also known as BLAST. People can get accessed to the application easily.

You also can be accessed to the genomic BLAST page, just enter the subject you want in example by entering 'Mouse'.

The result for the mouse will be showed. Continue with the next step to own the best information.

Protein Data Bank

This one of the drug database. Its called Protein Data Bank.

The homepage.

Okay, so now let us look how to search for a certain type of protein. Let say if you want to search for epinephrine, just type whatever types of protein that you wish to look for. Example as below.

As you can see it will give you suggestions on what you are looking for which it will make your search easier! Cool isn't it? *wink wink*
Just click on whatever information you wish to look up for.

Basically that will appear. So till then. Happy searching!

THERAPEUTICALLY RELEVANT MULTIPLE PATHWAYS DATABASE

THE FIRST SCREENSHOT

THE SECOND SCREENSHOT

The pictureS above are the screenshots of the pathways for the blood coagulation, platelet adhesion and also fibrinolysis.

Ahaha. Sophisticated right?? it takes time to understand all of this but it will be possible if you try. CHAIYOK guys!! GAMBATE :) :)
